The Beauty of Two Associations at One Event

RCAT and MRCA
September 25, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.

By Cass Jacoby.

RCAT and MRCA have come together for one giant roofing conference this September as a way to help introduce their members to new sides of the industry.

In Season 4, Episode 43 of Roofing Road Trips, Heidi J. Ellsworth gets excited for the upcoming Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) and Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA) roofing conference. For the first time ever, the two trade associations are partnering together to throw the biggest roofing conference Fort Worth, Texas has ever seen!

The conference will take place September 27-29, 2022 at the Fort Worth Convention Center and Omni Hotel, and promises over 150 exhibitors showcasing the latest roofing products at the expo, numerous educational sessions, and plenty of networking events!

Richard Koetter, president of RCAT and Kelly Lea, president of MRCA share with RoofersCoffeeShop about how the show is a great opportunity for both associations to cross advertise, and to get more contractors who might not have been involved with the MRCA or RCAT the opportunity to get involved with other associations and its members.

“Membership for us is one of the real big reasons we wanted to do this together,” says Kelly. “I've been associated with both these associations for many, many years. We're hoping to bring some people into the fold. I think it could be very membership wise. We can provide a lot of things to help them with be it white papers, safety programs, safety outlines, safety review or the innovation award."

The partnership is mutual, considering how MRCA specializes more in commercial roofing and the RCAT focus is more in residential roofing, the joint conference is complimentary. This event is a promising way to introduce both of their members to whole new sides of the industry. “Now we’ve got [contractors] coming in that are more in tune to [MRCA] than to us,” says Richard. “It's working out pretty good, everybody's wanting to get in on it because it's big.”

The joint conference is a win-win for both associations, as it promises to help evolve friendships and keep the industry growing.

“That's the big thing is getting people involved, come to the conference, see what's out there, meet people, get talked about,” says Richard. “Go get involved. It's the best thing you can do for your business.”
