By Colin Sheehan, RCS Reporter.
On this episode of Roofing Road Trips, RoofersCoffeeShop® partner, Heidi J. Ellsworth, visits with April Hall, President of Storm Consultants, LLC. April is the woman behind the curtain bringing the roofing industry the annual Storm Restoration Contractor (SRC) Summit, scheduled to take place this January 23-25 in Frisco, Texas. In this podcast the two review the Summit’s schedule and importance.
April grew up watching her family build custom homes and she quickly developed a passion for the construction trades. When April went to college, she met her first business partner, and soon after graduating the two opened up their first roofing and construction company.
“Roofing has always been an amazing industry,” said April. “After a while of working in different states we saw that there was a huge need for a standardized [storm restoration] training for this industry.”
After noticing this need, April and her partner created the industry’s first insurance restoration sales training in 2011. They held these trainings in Dallas, however, after only a few months in business, began seeing roofing contractors from all over the U.S. in attendance.
“Contractors were flying in from all different states, so we started to scale the company into other things that were needed in the industry [and] created the overhead and profit seminar back in 2013 and then this conference, the SRC Summit, was born from that too. Talking with roofing contractors on a daily basis and hearing the pain points and the needs of the industry is really how I created SRC Summit.”
The SRC Summit brings in roofing contractors from all over the U.S. for two and a half days of learning, networking and fun. The conference features some of the industry's top experts who delve into the most important roofing and storm restoration topics of today as well as share their strategies for success. This summit is vital to attend for all roofing contractor businesses interested in learning how to provide excellence in the storm restoration market.
“There are a lot of networking opportunities [at SRC] and it’s a place where you can grow your business and learn from others who have come before you,” said April.
Each Summit is different and the subjects covered in the event are dependent on the current needs of the industry. You can view the lineup of speakers, the topics they will cover and register for the event all on the SRC Summit website.
Be sure to listen to the entire podcast to learn more about this year’s SRC Summit and why you should attend.
