Breaking news: Catch the newest products in roof coatings!

Kool Seal And Uniflex Shine Podcast
February 5, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

From do-it-yourself to large-scale commercial jobs, Sherwin-Williams Roofing Solutions has the products you need to meet industry demands.

Want the inside scoop on some great new products hitting the roofing industry? In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth sits down with Jamie Atkins and Chris Underwood from Sherwin-Williams Building Products to discuss the latest and greatest in roof coatings from Uniflex® and Kool Seal.

You’re probably familiar with the Sherwin-Williams name and these product lines are not new in the industry. Jamie explains, “Kool Seal is a brand that we sell in several different retail markets. It’s both for DIY [do-it-yourself] and contractor.” Uniflex is more contractor-based. Chris shares, “This line is complete with warranties. You’ve got a full line of roof restoration products and systems for large commercial jobs. We offer superior product performance and installation guides from a talented group of sales professionals that support this brand.”

One of the new products is a bleed blocker that will be launched under both Uniflex and Kool Seal brands. Chris tells us a little more about it: “It’s going to be a great addition to our silicone product line... What this will do is prevent the bleed-through and help provide another layer of protection over our substrate. Because of the strong inter-coat adhesion between the two products, we’ll get excellent adhesion with our silicone, our primer over top of these substrates.” It’s ideal for built-up APP and SBS roofing systems which are all asphaltic-type substrates and are extremely common in the industry.

Another exciting addition to their product line are three new professional-grade base coats rolling out under the Kool Seal brand. Jamie describes them, sharing, “The first one is our premium base coat. This is great for use over metal, concrete and polyurethane. The second is our SPE, single-ply elastomeric. This is perfect for weathered EPM, Hypalon and TPO. Our third base coat, professional level, is our MB. This is for smooth built-up roof, modified bitumen and granular cap sheets.” They want to make sure they are providing customers with all the tools they need for every roofing situation they come across.

Read the transcript or Listen to the podcast to learn about their other new products, where they will be available and hear feedback from contractors who have tested them.
