Working Smarter With Leap

Leap Work Smarter
July 11, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

By Yvette Cruz.

As a company that wasn’t meeting its full potential, East Coast Roofing began utilizing technology in favor of creating a less stressful work environment for their workers and increasing business profits.

From the beginning, Larry Styler created East Coast Roofing in 1979 with the idea of helping others without the expense of selling “an arm and a leg.” Jeff Kay started as CEO in 2016 and implemented Leap. His goals were to take East Coast Roofing to new levels of business while keeping within the original mission of helping others.

Utilizing Leap, LLC and Ingage, Jeff discusses some of the important steps he’s taken to create a successful business.

When Leap asked what his goals six years ago were and how they compared to today’s goals, Jeff stated that, “The goals have changed significantly over the years. At the time I started, selling a million a month seemed like years and decades away. Now we are doing 2.2 million a month.”

Coming in and with fresh new eyes, Jeff saw that the company was stuck in “pen and paper” ways. They originally had two people travel between 12 and 30 houses a day to measure and inspect the homes. Upon returning to the office, they would need to put a proposal together and mail it out by the next day. “With Leap, it’s a seamless tool. It’s easy and efficient.” Cutting time and unnecessary work, Leap gives the measurements and material orders to a production team, making the workflow smoothly through transitions.

By switching to using technology, it has allowed East Coast Roofing to make training easier, track progress more accurately and allowed for more consistency for a growing company.
