Well-established Trade Association Grows Stronger Every Year

ARCA Podcast with Jennifer George
March 2, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

By Alec Doniger.

One of the most impressive subcontractor trade associations in the nation establishes more initiatives to grow their industry.

The Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA) was established in 1969, and they have seen amazing growth throughout their existence. In 2023, the well-respected subcontractor trade association has continued to make great strides. In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips, Executive Director Jennifer George visits with Heidi J. Ellsworth about upcoming goals and initiatives to strengthen their association. For ARCA, the future looks bright.

ARCA was established in 1969, and ever since, has strived to be recognized as one of the best in the nation. There are 250 ARCA members throughout the state with the majority being roofing contractors. “ARCA is also affiliated with the National Roofing Contractors Association, the Western State Roofing Contractors Association, as well as the Arizona Roofing Alliance,” Jennifer reports.

At ARCA there are two categories of membership. People can join either as contractors or associate members. For all who are ARCA members, 2022 has been a hugely successful year, and 2023 is shaping up similarly. When Jennifer was asked about their key initiatives and successes, she had lots to share.

“In 2022, we offered over 50 safety training classes, and that was free to all of our members,” Jennifer stated. ARCA also hosted and expanded academy classes for non-members, took part in the 53rd annual roofing exposition, and held social and sporting events for members.

For 2023, ARCA is hoping to increase its membership. To encourage recruitment, ARCA will be launching the first Skills USA competition in Arizona. They will also be working to increase participation in the Let’s Build Girls Camp, a camp designed to introduce girls from ages 8 to 16 to the roofing industry. However, among their long list of goals, their top goal will always be “to keep everyone on the roof safe.”
