Insurance can get scary for those of us who aren’t experts, which is, admittedly, a lot of us! Luckily, Seth Pietsch and Ashley Pietsch with Integrity Insurance & Bonding make insurance for roofing contractors easy and accessible, so you can focus on getting safely on that roof rather than decoding lawyer-speak for hours. Heidi J. Ellsworth sat with Ashley and Seth at Western Roofing Expo for a LIVE! interview where they talk about the importance of finding an advocate who is on the same level with the contractor.
Seth says the top thing she is seeing contractors needing within insurance comes down to customer service. “There's been tons of mergers and acquisitions of smaller independent agencies that have been around for decades, that the principles are getting older,” says Seth. “We really try to provide a level of customer service that is unfortunately being lost and put on the back burner by a lot of these larger companies. And that's what most people want. They just want that human interaction.”
Ashley Agrees with Seth that the customer service side of things is critical at the moment.“Making sure their certificates and items like that are getting done quickly, efficiently, rates,” says Ashley. “I know that rates are going up right now. Just like every other thing that's going up. Insurance rates are also right there along with it.”
Not only is a high level of customer service needed in insurance, but when dealing with insurance in the roofing industry, an understanding of the contractors and their day-to-day life. One of the biggest assets at Integrity Insurance is their passion for the roofing industry in addition to the insurance industry.
Seth has worked with roofing companies himself. “Even though I'm not a roofing contractor, I can support the roofing contractors in their business and really just be a strong advocate for them,” says Seth. “It is all about the education process, just telling clients what there is and what options they have, so they can make their best-informed decision on how they feel they need to protect their business. That's what my ultimate goal is, is to give them the resources to choose what works best for themselves.”
