I had the opportunity to visit with my dear friend Shari Carlozzi, WTI Safety Services Director, on her new position with Tremco and Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc (WTI) a subsidiary of Tremco Roofing. In a Roofing Road Trips with Heidi Podcast we talked about her new safety programs and how she is working with the Tremco sales team, and structural engineering partners, to provide a full, turnkey program for rooftop safety products and installation services.
As a preview for our conversation, Shari shares her history in roofing and what is happening in her new role along with the strong safety initiative at Tremco. “I've been in the industry for eleven plus years. I started in 2007 in the heat welding sector, working with contractors and distributors, and manufacturers to support the single ply roofing industry with heat welding equipment, generators, and other ancillary support products. That meant training contractors and some distributor groups on best practices on how to use and install my products safely and efficiently, through hot air applications, with electricity like 120 and 230 volts plus larger wattage equipment,” notes Carlozzi.
“I loved helping contractors and the industry as a whole which also plays into our friendship through National Women in Roofing,” continued Carlozzi. “Historically, my professional background has always been based on building new projects from the ground up, in my own marketing company, the automotive industry, and now roofing industry. When the opportunity to start a new program to support Tremco's already strong safety mission, I was on board. Tremco is a big company that promotes itself and prides itself on innovation, education for their employees, and safety is at its core, so it was a no brainer, really.”
Please take a moment to hear the whole podcast as we talk safety, roofing and of course National Women in Roofing. Hear it here.
