The compact UNIROOF 700 automatic roof welding machine was developed at Leister Technologies AG, Switzerland. Suitable for welding or joining thermoplastic waterproofing membranes on flat roofs up to 5,380 square feet, as well as inclined roofs up to 30 degrees, the UNIROOF 700 has been revolutionizing the roofing industry since November 2021. It’s equipped with the Leister Quality System (LQS), giving roofers control of key welding parameters (temperature, air volume and speed) and documents the weld quality via a report. This service is referred to as, "LQS Roofing" and can be used via the myLeister app.
The reports with all welding data of the respective roofing project can be generated via the myLeister app as PDF or CSV file. Thanks to the tool GPS, roofers can show the quality of their work through the GPS coordinates. Leister has been setting new quality standards in the roofing industry since November 2021. All information about the LQS Roofing service, as well as the link to download the myLeister app, can be found on the Leister website.
The Monitored Welding Assistant ensures increased safety while welding: The electronic assistant notices if the values of the tools' actual welding parameters are outside the set parameters and alerts users with a warning sound and lights up the digital display in red. The welding zone ensures that the parameters (temperature, speed and airflow) are perfectly matched. For example, if there is too much undervoltage, the weld may not be as durable as it should be. This results in the Monitored-Welding-Assistant automatically turning off the UNIROOF 700.
Since the average undervoltage on most job sites is roughly 200V, Leister’s product developers took this into account when developing the UNIROOF 700. Thanks to Leister’s power management and powerful heating element, the UNIROOF 700 remains in the welding zone (even at undervoltage up to 170V) and achieves consistent welding performance.
The newly developed standard nozzle of the UNIROOF 700 — mounted on delivery — produces an optimal welding width, which guarantees homogeneous welding seams. Compared to conventional nozzles even at 20 to 30 degrees Celsius lower temperatures. It is also easy to insert the nozzle into the overlap.
For joining roofing membranes made of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) and difficult-to-weld sealing membranes, Leister also recommends the patented roughening nozzle. This is because the patented grooving process removes the oxidized surface of the material during contact welding with the roughening nozzle, which in most cases makes activation of the weld seam (for example with chemical substances) unnecessary or simplifies it.
The display on the UNIROOF 700 shows the voltage so that users can check it before welding and make any changes if necessary. Undervoltage can affect the quality of the weld so it’s important to always check the extension cables and replace them if needed.
Like most Leister tools, the UNIROOF 700 also has low-maintenance, brushless motors.
Its outstanding welding speed should be also emphasized. For example, the UNIROOF 700 welds PVC membranes at 8.2 feet per minute when the temperature is set to 1,022 degrees Fahrenheit.
In eco mode, the UNIROOF 700 saves up to 30 percent of energy at its maximum temperature and air volume.
Thanks to the slim housing design and movable transport axis, time-consuming retooling for different applications is no longer necessary when working with the UNIROOF 700. The automatic roof welding machine welds effortlessly, even in tight spaces, up to 100 millimeters at the edge and on the parapet, on large flat roofs or difficult-to-access "roof problem zones" such as skylight domes.
Roofers and project managers can check the UNIROOF 700s welding parameters by using the LiveView function on the myLeister app with their smartphone or tablet.
In the myLeister app, users can create welding recipes and send them to the UNIROOF 700. In addition, the myLeister app provides an overview of all stored welding recipes. Pre-made welding recipes for TPO, PVC, EVA, PIB are already stored in the UNIROOF 700.
In short: The UNIROOF 700 is equipped with the Leister Quality System (LQS), access to the LQS Roofing service via myLeister app, as well as a Monitored Welding Assistant and Power Management. It's ideally suited for welding flat roofs and has been setting a new standard in the roofing industry since November 2021. Additionally, the UNIROOF 700s software can be updated with regard to future services, making it a safe investment.
