With its superior granule retention, unmatched performance and durability, this modified bitumen roofing system is setting a new standard for the industry.

Modified bitumen (MB) roofing systems are known for their durability and reliability. These systems, composed of asphalt and reinforced with fiberglass or polyester, offer excellent waterproofing and are designed to withstand a range of environmental conditions. Tremco Roofing is setting new standards for performance and longevity with their innovative POWERply® Endure MB Roof System.

What is modified bitumen roofing?

Modified bitumen roofing is a type of asphalt product that can be applied to the roof in various ways, including hot-mopped asphalt, heat-welded or cold-applied adhesives. These systems typically consist of multiple layers, providing a thick, durable and water-resistant barrier. MB roofing is popular in commercial roofing due to its long-lasting performance, flexibility in low temperatures and excellent resistance to punctures and tears.

Tremco’s POWERply Endure MB Roof System

Tremco’s system is designed to endure the elements and set a new standard for modified bitumen, featuring four innovative properties that maximize performance and durability:

  • Granule retention: While the acceptable granule loss per roll per ASTM D4977 is 7.7 pounds, Tremco’s system boasts a remarkably low granule loss of just 0.77 pounds per roll. This dramatic difference is achieved through their patented GranuLock™ adhesion, ensuring that granules remain firmly in place, protecting the roof from UV exposure and providing a fire-resistant surface.
  • Anti-wicking fabric: This industry-first treatment drastically reduces the potential for moisture to wick into and travel up the reinforcing fabric, addressing a critical issue in roofing systems and helping to keep roofs dry and structurally sound.
  • Enhanced durability: The membranes in POWERply Endure are firmer underfoot than competitive products, resisting traffic damage, marring and the wear and tear of long-term exposure to the elements.
  • RooF-ID™ technology: Incorporated into the back of every POWERply Endure membrane roll, this technology allows for easy scanning and tracking of roofing components. This ensures efficient management and maintenance by quickly identifying and addressing any issues that come up.

To see how the POWERply Endure system is changing the roofing landscape, watch Tremco’s commercial and discover the future of modified bitumen roofing.
