MetalForming Enters a New Chapter With Bright New Leadership

Metalforming podcast Bright New Leadership
July 6, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

By Anna Lockhart.

Stephen Gosk and Ken McLaughlan have been with MetalForming for less than a year, but they have already made waves towards a bright future with the company!

In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with MetalForming’s President and CEO, Stephen Gosk, and VP of Architectural Sales, Ken McLauchlan, to discuss the new changes and exciting future ahead as the company enters a new chapter. With recent additions to their highly motivated, dynamic leadership team, MetalForming is ready to embrace the exciting changes and successes to come!

Having both joined the company less than a year ago, Stephen and Ken bring fresh sets of eyes and consumer-centric perspectives to the table. Their additions to the MetalForming team have brought with them many changes that will hopefully steer the company towards a successful future.

“A mature company always needs to remember why it was born. MetalForming launched about 26 years ago now with a focus on having top tier suppliers that we represent all the way back to the customers that we're serving. And we need to keep that focus and understand that. But as the business scales and we start to grow, if we want to be twice as big as we are today, then naturally things that worked back then are not going to work in the future,” said Stephen, whose goal is to create a balance of new and old ideas to create the best possible diverse mix for the brand. “I've assembled a team that I believe is just an ideal mix of people new to the company as well as people who've been here for many, many years, and then bringing in people like Ken that may not have been with this company for all those years but had been in the industry that long.”

By focusing on a positive evolution towards their ideal balance, Stephen and Ken hope to bring a major focus to customers and consumer-centric approaches to their business and marketing plans. “I think that the new management approach that we have is customer-centric, which is key. Because the customer base is changing and it's a very diverse group of people that we work with. Our customer base is diverse, our employee base is diverse and where the market's going is diverse...” Ken said. “So just like other companies are modifying and adapting to the market, so are we... We want to see what we have to do to be that partner for those customers. And I think that's key for where we're going in the future too, just not today.”
