How to Turn New Technologies Into Resources That Will Help You Expand

Owens Corning University webinar
August 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

By Cass Jacoby, RCS Reporter.

In a new Owens Corning University (OCU) webinar, Heidi J. Ellsworth joins Jon Gardner and Anna Anderson to discuss new tools and strategies to help you grow your business.

The Owens Corning Roofing Business Accelerator program, available on RoofersCoffeeShop®, connects Owens Corning Roofing Contractor Network Members with experts for one-of-kind sales training and advice to help you position your business for maximum success. Together, Anna, Heidi and Jon (I would add their titles) focus on opportunities within the industry that you can help leverage for your growth.

In the webinar, Jon reflects on how well received the OCU trainings are for roofing contractors.“More and more people that are just thirsty for more information because they want to get their business in a better place (this quote doesn’t make sense),” says Jon in the webinar.

Finding the right technology solution is no easy feat. Especially when the technology you are looking into is such an investment. Jon recommends looking into technological solutions that meet your needs based on where your company is, what your budget looks like and what you are trying to achieve. “I think there's so many different opportunities for business owners because there's so much technology available,” agrees Anna. “So look at what that business's goal is. And then what is the technology that they need in order to accomplish that?”

One of the best things that technology offers us is the ability to be better communicators. The tools and resources we have available to help us communicate effectively and better understand homeowners are undoubtedly the most valuable to contractors.

“There are so many ways to communicate,” says Heidi. “What we are seeing is that there is such a variety of generational engagement with communication — everyone communicates differently. So it is so important to look at how your customers are going to want to engage with you.”

Further, using technology to increase education and connect to more opportunities is a huge way for contractors to gain success. There are more resources than ever to help contractors dig in and understand their business better, and this webinar features a master document full of tools that will help contractors elevate themselves and their business.

OCU is just one example of an amazing resource to leverage. “This is content that's been vetted, content that's built in part with our partners and content that was actually built for and with contractors,” says Jon. “Anything that we've put on Owens Corning University was because our contractors told us that was important for them. And so, we listened. And we built our course content out.”

Watch the webinar today to learn even more about how to use the resources technology affords contractors to help grow within the industry.
