Now that the RoofPro product has been applied to the Grand Isle Condominium, the facility will continue to have its luxurious luster as an iconic structure in Tierra Verde.
Located on the waterfront in the small barrier island community of Tierra Verde, Florida, the Grand Isle Condominium building is often subject to extreme tropical weather conditions produced by the Gulf of Mexico. After water intrusion was reported from second floor owners, the decision was made to address the aging waterproofing membrane on the penthouse third level walkway while giving the area a fresh, new look. A Sikalastic®-624 WP RoofPro waterproofing system was applied with Gemstone decorative finish over the top.
Engineers Lee Levoir and Dalton Cox specified Sikalastic®-624 WP as a waterproofing membrane that could meet all the building expectations for long term use and warranty. Sika Corporation has multiple ancillary products to combat damp concrete and poor sloping conditions. Sikadur Crack Fix, Sikadur-22 Lo-Mod, SikaQuick® VOH, Sika Concrete Primer Lo-VOC and Sikalastic DTE Primer were all used on this project. With The new fully reinforced liquid membrane was topped with a gemstone decorative finish. All leaks were stopped and penthouse level owners have an eye-catching new walkway that surely raised property values.
