Interior designer and influencer Amy Storm has worked with more than 600 families to create the home of their dreams. Last year Amy and her husband Josh decided it was their turn. Their project, Shelter for the Storms, was followed by cameras to create ground-up content. And when they started going “UP” … as in “up on the roof” … the team from JnJ Restoration out of Evanston, Illinois was with them every step of the way.
“My experience working with Jason Chase and his crew was outstanding!” said to Amy Storm. “Jason communicated in a timely manner and pointed out things to enhance the project. After that he guided us through the order, gave clear pricing and installed it quickly with no lingering issues.”
Over the years Amy has worked on many projects specifying DaVinci Roofscapes composite products. So, when it came to her own home, she knew exactly what she wanted. “For us it was really important that we find a beautiful and high-quality roofing material,” says Amy. “DaVinci composite roofing tiles provide an authentic looking option to natural slate and cedar. Each handcrafted tile is made in America.
“When it came time for us to make a selection for our roof, DaVinci Single-Width Slate was the #1 choice. It was a super easy decision. We couldn’t recommend it more. The DaVinci synthetic slate in Castle Gray checked all the boxes. Plus, the warranty is like no other!”
Good weather prevailed for the roofing installation and the JnJ Restoration team completed the project in less than four days
“We do several new construction roof projects yearly, so we were comfortable with this project for the Storms,” says Jason, owner of JnJ Restoration. “There is a good bit of copper on the roof, which sets it apart. The custom copper work looks great in the valleys and flashings.”
Due to the Illinois location of the home, Jason and his team also took time to install RG16 snow guards in a harbor gray color to complement the color of the composite slate roof. The snow retention system, from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards, is installed on all the eaves of the home in a staggered pattern of two rows with each being 1.5 lineal feet apart.
Sticking with her safety theme, Amy appreciates the added protection the snow guards give her home. “There are a few places we had concerns about the potential snow accumulation,” says Amy. “The snow guards give us peace of mind. They’re truly an element that help provide our family with ‘Shelter for the Storms’ in our new home!”
