This new roof coatings product will increase your revenue, shorten installation times and use less material while providing superior weatherproofing protection and durability.
In the latest episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth sits down with Josh Poole of Tremco Roofing to talk about one product that is revolutionizing roof restorations in the industry. Dive into this episode to learn more about Tremco’s AlphaGuard™ FC LO, a liquid-applied system that can be installed in sub-freezing temperatures and offers excellent reflectivity and rapid curing. Boasting a number of other benefits, you’ll be installing in fewer steps and using less material on future roof restorations.
The AlphaGuard line is a modified polyurethane methacrylate liquid applied system, or PUMA, for short. Josh tells us the FC LO stands for fast cure, low odor, and this is where it really stands out from other PUMA products. Josh explains, “Traditionally, if you’ve worked with PUMA-based products, they’re going to come with a distinct odor and that’s just inherent to the product itself. This product offers a low odor option that’s truly unique to that type of technology.” This makes the product ideal for sensitive accounts like healthcare facilities and other buildings that can’t be cleared during installation as it won’t disrupt normal activities.
They’ve also enhanced the product from a chemistry standpoint to improve elongation, strength and durability which come with a number of benefits. Josh continues, “Another benefit is going to be the rapid cure... You’re left with a waterproofing layer in as little as 30 minutes. So, it’s going to get the roof installation completed and performing in less than an hour generally.”
Finally, the product comes in a standard, summer grade or winter grade option. Josh explains the difference: “[Normally], we’re able to install this product at temperatures between 50 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit, but we also have a winter grade option that can get you into applications that take place at below freezing temperatures... It allows for options where if you have an emergency leak or patching repair you can go up and get an installation in place.” No more fretting when the forecast works against your favor. You can make your customers happy without risking the integrity of the system.
