How to help homeowners in choosing rain gutters

In the process of helping homeowners choose the right gutters for their home, you should share the following tips:

Gutter Materials

Gutters are made with a variety of materials, most commonly vinyl, aluminum, steel or copper. When selling gutter materials, help the homeowner consider the type of weather that is common in their area and the aesthetic look they want for their home or building. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages.

Gutter Styles

Gutters come in the following styles to ensure that your gutter protects your home and doesn’t take away from its beauty.

Additional Factors

Gutter sizes, colors, coatings and prices are all dependent on the particular company they choose.  Help them understand the wide range of products available in gutters.   They will depend on their sales representative when considering each of these factors.  If the home is a new construction project, the choices may also be different from those homes that need a replacement gutter system.

Making the Right Choice

Choosing the right type of gutter is often a matter of the type of project the homeowner is hoping to finish. Those with existing homes may simply be tired of leaks from a failing gutter system and hope to find a replacement system that includes gutter guards. Those who are building newer homes may be more focused on the aesthetic value of the gutter system and gutter leaf protection.

How to Help Homeowners in Choosing Gutters

If the customer owns their home and wants to replace the gutters, they have probably reached the point where they are sick of leaks and ready to “do something,” albeit at an affordable cost. On the other hand, if they are building a custom home then they want gutters that complement the aesthetics of the new residence. Having spent a bundle on their home’s exterior, they don’t want just any run-of-the-mill gutter system.

For either scenario, the installation of gutters with a leaf gutter guard is an excellent option.  Share the long-term strength of a system like Gutter Helmet®.  They have the products and expertise to offer the best-looking and performing gutter system on the market.
