Associations can provide contractors with the tools, information and education needed for successful business operations.

Devoting time to an industry association can seem hard to do when trying to run a business, but keep in mind that these associations exist to help contractors with their business and advance the roofing industry overall. Malarkey Roofing Products recognizes the value of participation in the groups that strive to promote and advance the roofing industry and is a member of several associations. There are many benefits that can help contractors including the following:

Safety and legal advice. Rules and regulations are always changing and it can be challenging to keep up with the latest ones. Industry associations often have technical committees or staff members that can provide critical information and answer questions related to codes and more.

Technical bulletins. As companies move forward with innovations and the launch of new products, contractors need to stay up-to-date on best practices. Receiving industry updates through association-issued technical bulletins is one way to stay in the know.

Business management resources. Many associations offer member portals where contractors can log in and access various warranty, employment and operational forms. Members also have access to logos and badges for promotional purposes, adding credibility to the contractor’s business as a member of a professional organization.

Annual educational conferences. Annual conferences are an excellent opportunity to come together with peers in the industry and learn from each other. The exhibit hall is a good place to check in with industry suppliers and manufacturers to see the latest trends in the industry.
