Desert roofing days are coming up!

Get ready to explore Arizona’s only roofing industry expo and experience the Grand Canyon State’s beauty!   

Start packing your bags and don’t forget to bring some sunscreen because the Arizona desert is the place to be at the end of the summer! From Thursday, September 19 through Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA)’s 55th Annual Roofing Expo will be taking place at the We-Ko-Pa Resort and Casino in Fort McDowell, Arizona. For those looking for accommodations, you can reserve an on-site room either online or by calling 844-493-5672 and ask for ARCA or Arizona Roofing Contractors Association room block. 

This is the place to be, no matter what part of the industry you are in. If you are a manufacturer or supplier this tradeshow floor is designed to get you face-to-face with your customers and engaging with them about your products! For those working in the field, there are incredible industry-specific educational seminars, fun networking opportunities and unbelievable deals available in the Roofers Auction (which totals over $40,000 of roofing materials). 

Outside the classroom 

The event kicks off on Thursday, with the Sporting Clay tournament at Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is limited to 100 participants who must bring their own guns and ammo. The funds raised from this event go to support the Arizona Roofing Industry Foundations Annual Scholarship Program. There’s also an event that evening at La Puesta Del Sol at Fort McDowell where attendees can get acquainted, and those pre-register can participate in a cornhole tournament! 

The fun doesn’t stop after Thursday, on Friday the 7th Annual Young Professional Roofing Wars sponsored by Malarkey Roofing Products will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the pool area. Pre-registration for this event is encouraged, though day of registrations are also welcomed! The winner will be recognized at Saturday night’s Award Banquet. Also on Friday, ARCA is hosting their annual Fall Golf Tournament with a 7:00 a.m. check in at the We-Ko-Pa Golf Club and a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Make sure to purchase a golfer's package when registering to get your registration, mulligans and raffle tickets! 

Education opportunities! 

ARCA is known as a longstanding proponent of continuing education in the industry. They provide year-round training in everything from OSHA to fall protection to first aid. ARCA even goes the extra mile to make these as accessible as possible, with many of their courses being taught in both English and Spanish. Check out their current class schedule online! 

This passion for facilitating learning was carried over into their planning for the convention and they have a variety of educational seminars available for attendees on Saturday,  including:  

• The Importance of Safety (11:00 a.m.) 
• Leadership Skills (12:00 p.m.) 
• The Difference Between Quality Control and Quality Assurance (1:00 p.m.) 
• Mental Health/Safety Culture (2:00 p.m.) 
• Employee Buy-In (3:00 p.m.)
