During the 2024 Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association (FRSA) expo, The Coffee Shops crew members Heidi J. Ellsworth and Karen Edwards were able to sit down with Ken McLaughlin and Chad Rowe, respectively, in two separate interviews to discuss the brand’s latest updates. Ken and Chad shared highlights from the brand’s product line and how MetalForming can help metal professionals find the perfect machinery for their project needs.
As the largest distributor of metal folding machines and architectural sheet metal machinery in North America, MetalForming has dedicated a great deal of time and resources to ensuring their customers receive the best products and services. This has resulted in their offering of various consulting and training opportunities for customers to take advantage of.
Metal-Forming aims to help both seasoned and novice metal professionals succeed in building a profitable business and reputation by providing quality metal machinery. “MetalForming really can come in and help support somebody who's just setting up a new shop,” explained Chad. “Specifically with the equipment, the technology exists today that utilizes technology that's been proven over the years and as our workforce is becoming more technologically advanced.”
The roofing industry is expanding at a rapid rate, but there are some difficulties that come with expansion. Ken told Heidi, “We're seeing a big call. I mean, obviously the hardest thing to find in this industry is labor. So, we have to show our contractors and our partners how they can work smarter and how they can get equipment that allows them to work faster and be more in control. And so that's the stuff that we try to bring to these shows.” For the FRSA expo, their team showcased a few of their top machinery brands for attendees to interact with on the trade show floor.
One of the big pulls to owning a roofing business is the freedom and flexibility to take on specialized and desired projects. Chad shared, “So, take control of your own project. And sometimes that decision is not necessarily always a financial decision of ‘how do I make more money?’ It's ‘how do I support my customers better and control my job site?’ I can cut down on that lead time. I can produce just in time.” These practices can lead to better efficiency and success for an individual contracting business.
