In a recent episode of the MetalCast podcast, host Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with MetalForming’s Vice President of Architectural Sales Ken McLauchlan to discuss the exciting new things the company has in store and the big surprise they plan to unveil at this year’s METALCON convention. The two also discussed the importance of customer engagement in building success.
MetalForming is recognized as one of the largest and leading distributors of metal folding machinery in North America. The company is dedicated to providing their customers with the highest quality customer service and products available. Their customers trust that they are getting the most cutting-edge, high-quality products on the market based on their needs.
Ken emphasized that, big or small, businesses and contractors looking to work with MetalForming can find the right product fit for their needs. Which is why, at the upcoming METALCON event in Las Vegas this October, the company will be unveiling a new material handling system that is sure to revolutionize their customers’ daily productivity capacity.
“We listen to the contractor when they walk into the booth or when they call us on the phone and they say, ‘Hey listen, I need this,’” Ken explained. “With our partners that we have, we've talked about what we should do and where we should go next, and our machinery partners have listened, and boy do we have a surprise for everybody at this show.”
By listening to their customers' needs and finding an area to expand, MetalForming and their partners have a new system that will now provide those potential customers with the materials they need to get the job done. Ken explained that getting their team together to attend events like METALCON is another great way to meet these potential customers to hear their needs and for the company to find creative and innovative ways to address those needs.
For Ken, those connections are not just fun, but they’re important to forming relationships, too. “It's foundational. The discussions we have at these booths not only set sales for that time and for product launches, but it also gives people an opportunity to plan for the future, whether they're a small company and they're trying to move into a new area or they're a large company, they're trying to do CapEx budgets,” Ken shared. “So, we'll have an entire team there to support them. Everyone from financing to machinery experts to our technicians work the show.”
