Bringing all the pieces together: The Altitude Podcast

Bringing all the pieces together: The Altitude Podcast
March 22, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn how to optimize your use of technology from the people at the forefront of developing it.

You probably have heard of the Altitude Podcast from EagleView, but if you haven’t, each episode explores the stories of pioneers and innovators in their fields. The show is hosted by EagleView CEO Piers Dormeyer, who happened to stop by The Coffee Shops for an episode of one of our podcasts, Roofing Road Trips®, to talk more about his podcast fits into the larger industry.

Before Piers became the CEO of EagleView, he spent over a decade in tech start-ups and roofing manufacturing. During that time, he had the chance to talk to customers, professionals and tech leaders across many different industries about how technology can fit into business’s workflows. Piers shared, “What I tend to find is a lot of the stories are just incredibly interesting, and, one of the really interesting things, whether or not we're talking about a roofing contractor or somebody in public safety on the government side of the business or a utilities customer in oil and gas, is that there's a lot of the same themes that keep coming up.”

Those themes that keep coming up? How customers and clients can save time and make their operations more efficient through technology. This pattern of optimizing technological tools to save time and money is the same core idea that EagleView uses in their operations. For EagleView, following this core tenant for over a decade has made them a leader in the field of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and aerial imagery.

What Piers is doing with the Altitude podcast is just another continuation of this tenant. He explained, “If all of these parts and pieces can't connect and they can't seamlessly fit into your business workflow and all of your employees can interact easily, it's not going to help your business... Really the goal with Altitude was to think through, ‘who are some folks that we've talked to that have some particularly really salient points that we think needs to be to be heard, needs to get out there into the world to connect those parts and pieces?’”
