One of the first things that I made sure I did when I started my business was to become involved in the associations that were supporting the industries where I was focusing my practice. Associations play a vital role in the success of the industry.
They support the professionalism and growth of our trades through education and training at annual conferences and throughout the year. They educate contractors, manufacturers and industry suppliers about the latest issues facing the industry, from codes and OSHA regulations to immigration laws and other legislation.
Associations provide a voice to the industry that can be heard by lawmakers considering actions that may influence our livelihood and our ability to grow and thrive. We saw this in action in March when NRCA organized the first ever Roofing Day in Washington, D.C. where industry professionals were able to spend time meeting with their respective representatives to discuss issues of importance related to the roofing industry.

If you are looking for your local association, you can find a complete listing of all the roofing industry associations right here on the Coffee Shop.
