The real cedar shingles on Steve Wenner’s roof worried him. The shingles were blowing off in wind storms, had started to rot and had moss build-up. His worrying came to an end when Wenner invested in a DaVinci Multi-Width Shake roof.
“I was afraid to walk on my old shake roof because I knew it could break,” says Wenner. “Then the family wanted to build a fire pit, and I said no. I worried that sparks would fly up and catch the cedar shingles on fire.”
Roofing Road Trip
Wenner grew tired of the constant worrying. After seeing composite roofs on homes in his town of Findlay, Ohio, he and his wife decided to investigate options.
“Nancy and I liked the DaVinci roofs we saw locally,” says Wenner. “We contacted several roofers and the DaVinci corporate headquarters. They gave us locations throughout northwest Ohio where we could see the composite roofing installed.”
So, the Wenners went on a mini-road trip. They spent an entire day driving around looking at dozens of DaVinci roofs. And they liked what they saw.
“The installed DaVinci product was very impressive,” says Wenner. “Equally impressive was the one-on-one support we received from the company.
“Aaron Adams, DaVinci’s regional sales manager, drove to our house with sample boards. Then he sent more the following week. I thought that was above and beyond what companies normally think of as customer relations.”
Color Selection
The next step in replacing the 1991 cedar shake shingles on their home came in making the color decision. Wenner took a ladder out and placed the samples on the roof. Nancy stood back and evaluated the color options.
“When Nancy kept coming back to the Mountain blend color I knew we had our choice,” says Wenner. “The combination of the three shades of Mountain tones really complements the other elements of our home exterior.”
Up on the Roof
With the color and product decision made, the Wenners were ready to get their roofing project underway. After receiving several bids, they decided on the team with Great Roofing and Restoration headquarters in Westerville, OH.
“This was a dream project,” says Ryan Lephart, licensed general contractor and director of business development at Great Roofing and Restoration “We’ve seen over and over again how real cedar shakes can fail on a home. Helping the Wenners select a low-maintenance, top-quality DaVinci roof means they’ll have years of worry-free enjoyment.”
“Selecting Great Roofing and Restoration was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” says Wenner. “That roofing crew has an exceptional work ethic. They took care of our property at all times and worked from sun up to sun down. I just can’t say enough good things about working with Great Roofing.”
Three weeks later Wenner had what he desired: a worry-free roof.
“We love the composite roof on our house and on our dock,” says Wenner. “Rain, wind, snow. I don’t worry anymore.”
“Now I’ve become a ‘Pied Piper’ for the DaVinci product. I tell people they better check out the DaVinci roofing materials if they’re even thinking about a roof replacement. The quality is there. The appearance is stunning. And, I can rest easier knowing my new roof resists fire, impact, severe weather and even moss build up!”
