Heidi J. Ellsworth has been working in roofing for a quarter of a century and loves it. Focused on sales and marketing, Heidi joined The Coffee Shops™ as a partner in 2015. She loves meetings because she gets to make new friends and build relationships and strategize to help not only the people and companies involved but the roofing industry overall. Her number one passion is her family, working with her husband Tim and following the amazing careers of James, Annaliese and Megan. In addition to running sales and business development for The Coffee Shops™, she also consults with the Roofing Alliance. She is active in the industry as a founder of National Women in Roofing (NWIR) and one of the founders of Roofing Technology Think Tank (RT3).
Tim Ellsworth has a diverse career that started with his own landscaping business in high school until he went to Central Oregon Community College where he studied forestry and met Heidi. He worked in warehousing for twenty years as a warehouse manager and then worked with construction and landscaping contractors. Tim and Heidi have worked together raising a family and working in the roofing industry for close to 30 years. Currently Tim not only supports The Coffee Shops™ through tradeshows and speaking engagements with Heidi but also continues to work in construction and woodcutting in Camp Sherman, Oregon.
Karen Edwards is passionate about the roofing industry and thrilled that she gets to report on it with The Coffee Shops™. She has a long history with her dear friend Heidi Ellsworth. The two met when Heidi interviewed Karen for a job at Carlisle Syntec/HJE Marketing at the height of happy hour in a local PA bar and they have worked together ever since. Working at Carlisle and EagleView, she has led prominent industry marketing and contractor marketing programs. An avid sports and live music fan she lives in south central Pennslyvania surrounded by family. She now owns her own consulting business, Casimir Group and works to help others be successful in the roofing industry.
James Ellsworth is the Chief of Staff for The Coffee Shops™. He has worked as a Chief of Staff in the Oregon Legislature and helped pass the largest investment to Oregon Schools in generations. He also has experience working with multiple non-profits active in Oregon politics advocating for voting rights, environmental stewardship, education funding and housing. Growing up around ranchers, loggers, contractors and hearing all about the roofing industry, James has combined his love of the roofing community with his expertise in business development to advocate and develop The Coffee Shops™ staff. When he isn’t working he loves to explore new places and roads and try new local wines, and can usually be found hiking, playing a fun game or listening to a good podcast.
Megan Ellsworth has grown up in the roofing industry, she is a child of marketing and getting her hands dirty on site. Growing up with Heidi J. Ellsworth as one's mom, it would be hard to not fall into roofing somehow. As the podcast producer for The Coffee Shops™, Megan handles all these audio and recordings. If you have ever recorded a podcast for The Coffee Shops™, then you have met her. She is a full time musician and leads her own band, ELLSWORTH. She recently graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver with a double major in Music Business and Songwriting. This young woman is one to watch both in the music and roofing industries. Catch her and her infectious smile at the FRSA or IRE tradeshows this summer.
Charlotte Galland is an account manager for The Coffee Shops™. After working at Disney and Orange County Sheriff’s, Charlotte has fallen in love with the roofing industry. Of all the industries and people she has worked with, she finds the roofing community to be her favorite. She loves working with our partners and delivering the best customer support possible. Charlotte loves old movies (especially if they feature the signature swagger of John Wayne), visiting National parks and more than anything chasing her daughter Alice and sons Beau and Brody around the house.
Amelia J. Morgan is an account manager for The Coffee Shops™. She attended Western Oregon University, where she earned her BS degree in Biology. Amy was working as a Surgical Technician in the Veterinarian industry when she met Heidi and decided to make a career change. Amy is excited to be on a new trajectory and learning the ins and outs of the roofing world. When not working at The Coffee Shops™, you can find her enjoying a good book, tending her garden, or roughin' the great outdoors. She also loves spending time with her life partner and two cats, Vesper and Zephyr.
Lauren White joined The Coffee Shops™ crew in 2019 as a reporter and is now the editor of both The Coffee Shops™ and AskARoofer. She earned her B.B.A. in Marketing and a Master in Arts and Teaching from the University of Portland. She was substitute teaching in Central Oregon when she made her blind leap to roofing after discussing her career goals, the roofing industry and the meaning of life with Heidi — over wine of course. New to the roofing world and with a love of learning and education, Lauren has enjoyed jumping into this new arena, both gaining as well as sharing her new knowledge. When she’s not reading articles or Googling roofing terminology, Lauren enjoys cooking, adventuring with her puppy Kira and watching sunsets.
Ann Richardson provides the accounting function for The Coffee Shops™. She is responsible for our accounts payable, receivable and financial reporting, planning and analysis. Ann moved to the Pacific Northwest from her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, ultimately settling in Sisters, Oregon in 1999. Over the past 20 years, Ann has provided executive leadership to three Central Oregon nonprofits — Sisters Folk Festival, Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and the Deschutes Land Trust. She is currently the board treasurer for Sisters Trails Alliance and has served on the board and as board president for the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce. Ann also has her own consulting business, utilizing her experience as both a board member and executive, providing advisory services for small to medium nonprofits. Ann and her husband Clyde love to hike, bike, whitewater raft and travel around the West in their little RV, herded everywhere by a small pack of Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Laurel Witting is the genius behind The Coffee Shops™ social media and is the reason it has grown in total followers to over 27,000. She prefers to stay out of the limelight, which is good, as she is the team's secret weapon. Her real business is as a custom jewelry maker from her studio in Portland, Oregon. It’s her constant demand of quality content that keeps The Coffee Shops™ hopping.
Natalie Alamo is the lead intern for The Coffee Shops™. Originally being from California, Natalie has loved exploring the beautiful scenery Oregon has to offer. She is currently a student at the University of Oregon studying Business Administration with a concentration in business operations and analytics. Natalie has enjoyed learning about the roofing industry ever since joining The Coffee Shops™ crew. In her free time, she loves going to Disneyland and the beach with family and friends.
Josh Smith is the creative designer that brings ideas to life for The Coffee Shops™. He has worked in the roofing and construction industry for 20 years, bringing a strong understanding of how to successfully communicate messages visually to contractors, building owners and suppliers. Josh is passionate about both art and music, with a special appreciation of pioneers in roots and blues as well as early rock legends.
Kate Edwards is the assistant website editor for The Coffee Shops™. She attended West Chester University, just outside of Philadelphia, where she earned her BS degree in marketing. Kate grew up with a mom (Karen Edwards, RCS COO) who worked in the roofing industry and began attending industry trade shows while still in high school. When not working at The Coffee Shops™, Kate has an interest in fashion, art and classic novels.
Kole works for The Coffee Shops™ as the UI/UX Designer. He graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with a degree in Graphic Design with a minor in Computer Science. Through being very creative in his youth, he developed a passion for creating digital art and teaches himself new applications to expand his capabilities. Kole also has a strong interest in football, and previously played wide receiver for the Pacific University football team in his four years at the school. When he is at home he loves spending time with his bestfriend Timon (his cat) or playing video games.
Evelyn Witterholt is a content developer for The Coffee Shops™. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a degree in English but she also studied film during her time in college. Evelyn spends most of her time outside of work either watching movies, writing or crafting. She also enjoys spending time in the gym setting new personal weight lifting records.
Brooks Morgan is a self-described jack of all trades and a master of none. Born and raised in Oregon, he has worked all over, including framing and painting houses, making pizza, selling hardware, and soldering computer boards. Always on the lookout for something new and exciting, Brooks has joined The Coffee Shops™ to work with a great team and grow as an individual. He is ready to help our partners and clients get the most out of The Coffee Shops™. With his free time, he skis whatever snow he can find in the PNW, plays his guitar and tries to make his truck go faster.
Alex Tolle is the R-Club Coordinator for The Coffee Shops™ and she works mostly with contractors. Alex was born and raised in Oregon. Her background is primarily in customer service, and she has an AAS in Hospitality Management from Lane Community College. Outside of work, Alex loves spending time with her family and friends. She loves working for The Coffee Shops™ because of the great team she gets to be a part of, the incredible people she meets at industry events and it gives her the flexibility to stay home with her son.
Brenda Littau is an Account Manager for The Coffee Shops™. She holds a 2-year certification from Pierce College for Social Media Marketing and has a passion for connecting people and organizations. She entered the roofing industry four years ago and had an eye on The Coffee Shops™ from the start, so when she was asked to join the team, she knew it was where she belonged. She is a published author, empty nester, fur-mom and camping enthusiast! You can find her and her husband roasting marshmallows in front of their vintage, 1976 GMC motorhome (lovingly dubbed The Twinkie) all around the Pacific Northwest.
Anna is the assistant editor for The Coffee Shops™. She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi. Having grown up around her father’s construction business, she’s passionate about shining a spotlight on the hard working and dedicated individuals who are making a difference in their own rural communities. When she isn’t working, you can find her reading a book or spending time with her husband and their pets, Obi and Chloe.
Yvette Cruz is a writer and reporter for The Coffee Shops™. She graduated from University of New Mexico with a bachelor's in film and digital media, along with associate degrees in theatre and media arts. She enjoys time at home with her family and crocheting stuffed animals.
Ethan McGarry started working as a content intern for The Coffee Shops™ in March 2023. He is currently attending Oregon State University, 3 years into a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. He is also in the Oregon National Guard and is enrolled in ROTC classes at OSU as well. Ethan grew up in Bend, Oregon and is a big fan of the outdoors. When not working at The Coffee Shops™, he enjoys spending time outside as well as playing or enjoying some good music.
Grace is a content admin for The Coffee Shops™. She earned her bachelor of arts in creative writing and graphic design with a minor in editing and publishing at Pacific University. Both in and out of work, she has a passion for all things creative including identity design, photography, illustration and fiction writing. Grace enjoys spending her free time with her friends and playing video games.
Adam Cabrera is a writer and podcast producer for The Coffee Shops™. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver and holds a degree in music performance with a minor in philosophy. When he isn't writing about roofs he enjoys camping in the Rocky Mountains, going to concerts and playing music.
Dani is a senior writer for The Coffee Shops™. She grew up in Colorado and received a bachelor’s in public health and a master’s in English from CU Denver. Her passion for sustainability led her to research and construction where she hopes to advocate for green building and expand the digital community of the industry. She currently resides in Northwest Arkansas where she’s been visiting new coffee shops in search of the perfect cup of coffee. Outside of work, you can find her training for a 50k trail race next March or pursuing her yoga teaching certification.
Jennifer Burroughs is executive assistant to Heidi J. Ellsworth and started with The Coffee Shops™ in 2023. She loves working with a team of people who are passionate about their role at The Coffee Shops™. Outside of working she loves spending time with her family, especially her one-year-old grandson who is the light of her life, and will drive over the mountains just to spend the day with him.
Emma Peterson is a writer at The Coffee Shops™. Raised in the dreary and fantastical Pacific Northwest, she graduated in 2024 from Pacific University in Oregon with a degree in creative writing and minors in graphic design and Chinese language. Between overthinking everything a little bit, including this bio, she enjoys watching movies with friends, attending concerts and trying to cook new recipes.
With a background in music and user-centered design, Zane DeLuccie is a multimedia producer at The Coffee Shops™. Having graduated from Metropolitan State University with a degree in music, Zane enjoys making music with friends, in addition to playing and watching basketball. He is on the board of a 501(c)3 nonprofit and has two kitties — Pepper and Batman.
Joseph Kaylor is one of The Coffee Shops™ account managers. Having recently graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's in business administration, he is very excited about the opportunity to learn about roofing and grow vital business skills from a plethora of highly experienced industry professionals. When not working, Joseph enjoys traveling around for Spikeball tournaments, especially in the Southern California area.
Jonny Suchor is a writer for The Coffee Shops™. He recently graduated from Willamette University with a BA in economics and a minor in communications. He was also a member of the baseball team at Willamette all four years. Born and raised in Colorado, Jonny spends most of his time in the great outdoors attempting to catch trout on his fly rod when he's not working. He is excited to be a part of The Coffee Shops™ team and learn more about the roofing industry.
Jesse Sanchez is a writer for The Coffee Shops™. He graduated with his master's in journalism and media communications from Colorado State University in spring 2024 after studying music in his undergraduate degree. His passion for storytelling has led him to pursue writing as his primary medium of artistic expression. When not working or writing, Jesse can be found spending time with family, powerlifting, playing video games and playing/listening to music.
Hannah Ford is a content intern for The Coffee Shops™. She is a student at Oregon State University pursuing her bachelor of science in marketing. In her free time she enjoys reading, art, music and trying new restaurants.
Itzel Najera is the Spanish content coordinator for The Coffee Shops™. She was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is deeply committed to helping the Spanish community. She finds great joy in connecting with nature and exploring new places. She enjoys classic films like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s and “Fools Rush In.” She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Caitlin Ieng is an account manager for The Coffee Shops™. Her career has taken her on many interesting paths from advertising firms, to home décor manufacturing, to raw materials procurement in the health and wellness industry. Each opportunity has allowed her to grow and adapt to new challenges, gaining valuable skills through the years. After her daughter, Cailiegh, was diagnosed autistic at the age of 3, she knew that she wanted to focus on being home with her full time. Crossing paths randomly in jury duty with fellow account manager, Charlotte, she was blessed with the opportunity to join the crew! Caitlin is so excited to bring her experience to the roofing industry and build some amazing relationships along the way. Outside of work, she finds joy in baking with her daughter, going on foodie travel adventures with her husband, Meng, and being an autism awareness advocate to make life for her daughter and others in the neurodivergent community better!
