Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) recently announced its technical committee assignments for the upcoming 2019-2020 year. These committees are comprised of contractor members that focus on current and continuing problems and trends in all aspects of the roofing market – including low-slope, steep-slope, waterproofing, safety and industry issues. Each committee is dedicated to improving all aspects of roofing — by keeping tabs on vital issues that affect the industry — and helping fellow WSRCA contractor members stay in-the-know!
Well-known for their commitment to research for all types of roofing in the western U.S., WSRCA continues to research and test roofing products and systems in order to help roofing contractors understand performance properties. As a member of WSRCA, contractors have access to technical bulletins that share insights gained in the research and offer guidelines for evaluating products and systems.
A recent study by the WSRCA technical committees covered the wide contingent of roofing underlayments for potential use in steep-slope roofing systems. The bulletin, that was shared in a past RCS blog, provided suggestions for the industry to help clarify the wide-ranging and sometimes confusing reported physical properties of the numerous roofing underlayment materials currently available on the market.
Research projects like the roofing underlayment study are critical for roofing contractors. The technical committee members volunteer their time and talent to help provide third party unbiased research. The research and technical bulletins help to continually raise the professionalism of the roofing industry while helping contractors make good decisions for their business. Following are the 2019-2020 committee members.
