Upcoming Improvements in the Works for This Portable Rollformer

New Tech Machinery's Hailey Boemer gives us an inside scoop on the upcoming addition to their iconic SSQ II portable rollformer.

Heidi Ellsworth: We're back again. And I'm telling you, talk about saving the best for last. Here we go. We have Haley with New Tech Machinery. Hailey, welcome back.

Hailey Boemer: Thank you, Heidi.

Heidi Ellsworth: I just love having you.

Hailey Boemer: Love being here.

Heidi Ellsworth: Okay, so why don't you go ahead and introduce yourself. Tell everybody a little bit about New Tech Machinery.

Hailey Boemer: Okay. So my name is Hailey Boemer and I have been with New Tech Machinery about five years now. And New Tech. If you're not familiar, we are a manufacturer of portable roll forming for roof, wall, and gutter. And we've been around since 1991.

Heidi Ellsworth: I love it. I love it. Okay. You're based out of Denver?

Hailey Boemer: Aurora. Yep.

Heidi Ellsworth: Aurora, Denver. Yep. So what are you talking about in the booth here? What's some of the things that are hot?

Hailey Boemer: So right now what we're really excited about, is we're coming out with a board batten profile to add to our SSQ2. It is very close. We are right now in the beta testing stages. And it is our goal to be able to show it at Metal Con. It's, we'll have to see. Fingers are crossed.

Heidi Ellsworth: That's in two weeks.

Hailey Boemer: Yeah.

Heidi Ellsworth: Yeah. Okay.

Hailey Boemer: But we're trying really hard.

Heidi Ellsworth: Wow. That's exciting. Speaking of Metal Con, you are our sponsors?

You, we're showing videos. So much cool things are happening. Now what are you hearing from the contractors at the show today? I mean, you said you've been really busy.

Hailey Boemer: Yeah. So amazingly enough, at every trade show, we somehow end up with people who never heard of us. Which is great, because that gives us a chance to tell them.

Heidi Ellsworth: I know.

Hailey Boemer: But what's been really fascinating today is, we had two different contractors come by. And they have early SSP roof panel machines, which was the initial concept machine. And one of them says he has one of the first ones that were made from a blueprint.

And to me as a salesperson, of course, I want to sell machines. But to hear that something from, for 20 years or more, is still working. And still providing an income. I just think that's phenomenal.

Heidi Ellsworth: That is so cool.

Hailey Boemer: Yeah.

Heidi Ellsworth: That is so cool. And that's the contractors at, I mean, it's everywhere. Roofing contractors are just great, now better. There is something kind of, there's a buzz in the air here with Western States. I mean, everybody's so happy to see each other. It's just really exciting.

Hailey Boemer: COVID is over. Am I allowed to say that?

Heidi Ellsworth: It's over. Over.

Hailey Boemer: Okay.

Heidi Ellsworth: I know. I'm not saying that we won't still get sick, but, yeah.

Hailey Boemer: Right.

Heidi Ellsworth: We're moving on, baby.

Hailey Boemer: Yes, absolutely.

Heidi Ellsworth: I love it. So you have a new vice president?

Hailey Boemer: We do. Terry McGuire. He's actually just hit his one year mark.

Heidi Ellsworth: Wow, okay.

Hailey Boemer: And I think he's going to stay. We hope you do, Terry.

Heidi Ellsworth: I know. I had a great interview with Terry, so impressive. His history and everything he's done in the industry. Growing businesses. I mean, wow. New Tech, really. 

Hailey Boemer: Yes. It has just been nothing but positive since he came on board. And he's just employee-focused. Customer-focused. Just everything you want in a vice president.

Heidi Ellsworth: It's so cool.

Hailey Boemer: Yeah.

Heidi Ellsworth: I'm really impressed. I always have been impressed with you. But it's nice to have... The whole team. You have such a great team there and we're seeing so much. So, okay, we're going to do this again two weeks from now.

Hailey Boemer: All right.

Heidi Ellsworth: Okay.

Hailey Boemer: Well, Terry's got, I'm doing the... Whatchamacallit, with the-
