Having a roofing underlayment that works well with tile, shingle and metal roofs is great. But when that same underlayment is also Class A fire rated, that’s even better! The Layfast SBS® underlayment from MBTechnology offers these features and more for a price point that can’t be beat.
Rather than being made of the traditional felt underlayment, Layfast SBS is made of rubberized asphalt with a fiberglass reinforcement. This makes it less prone to deterioration and damage, including fire. Recently, it met the requirements of a Class A Fire Rating from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), meaning if the roof were to catch fire, the flame spread would be minimal.
Because of its elastomeric composition, this underlayment lays nice and flat in a shorter amount of time, which cuts back on the duration of installation. The side laps do not curl up and they are not as prone to damage as other felt or synthetic underlayments. It is available in three weights: 35 pounds/square, 43 pounds/square and 70 pounds/square.
Layfast SBS is also offered at an economical price point, which is great news for contractors and homeowners. By offering customers a high-quality product at a low cost, roofers are more likely to secure the bid for any roofing job. Layfast SBS is truly an all-in-one roofing underlayment that is worth considering for your next roofing job!
