Dedicated to promoting the interests and education about the post-frame construction industry, the National Frame Building Association (NFBA) has worked to provide their members and the public with educational resources pertaining to the industry. One such educational resource they have provided is the Post-Frame Advantage Online University, a virtual online seminar course designed to teach participants valuable information about the post-frame construction industry and the fundamentals of design.
In their most recent online seminar class titled, “Non-Diaphragm Post-Frame Building Design Guide (ND-PFBDG),” participants were introduced to the basic concepts behind designing these systems and the textbook created by the NFBA covering this kind of design. They covered the key features and identifiers of lateral force resisting systems (LFRS) and how they are used in non-diaphragm post-frame building systems (PFBS), in addition to the guidelines for conducting structural analysis of non-diaphragm PFBS.
The Non-Diaphragm Post-Frame Design Guide is a valuable textbook created by the NFBA which outlines the core design principles and concepts behind non-diaphragm post-frame buildings. In this online seminar, participants walked through the main concepts covered in the book that they need to know in a professional environment. Participants learned about structural analysis, design of members, design of connections and the structural load and deflection criteria, to name a few.
Through this course, the NFBA highlighted valuable information that individuals in the post-frame construction industry and engineers should be familiar with. Whether new to the concepts or a seasoned professional looking for a refresher in core design skills, this course is a quick and easy way to do so!
