The Roofing Alliance announces 2024-2025 Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Recipients

Eleven new scholarships were awarded, and twelve others were renewed.

The Roofing Alliance proudly announces the 2024-25 Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Award recipients. The program offers three scholarship opportunities, and all categories are open to employees of roofing industry companies, their spouses and dependent children. It is also open to construction management students enrolled in undergraduate level or students enrolled in CTE programs or schools – regardless of industry affiliation. 

The Roofing Alliance approved eleven new Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship recipients, including:

Jack Armstrong, building science student, Auburn University    

Cole Celano, building construction student, University of North Florida

Phillip Hirte, construction management student, Dunwoody College of Technology    

Kennedy Jones, construction management student, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University 

Hallie Lemmon, daughter of Chris Lemmon, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal, West Virginia University     

Gaabriel Lovass, construction management student, Dunwoody College of Technology    

Mary Madalyn Massengale, building science student, Auburn University

Madeline Meuwissen, construction project management student, Dunwoody College of Technology    

Melina Risi, construction science and management student, Clemson University    

Arjun Varadhan, building science student, Auburn University    

Erin Williams, employed at Recovery Roofing Inc., University of North Florida    

In addition, the Roofing Alliance approved twelve renewal scholarships:

Caylin Angel attending Washington & Jefferson College

Cole Beyer attending University of Minnesota: Twin Cities

Aidan Carpenter attending North Carolina State University

Zackary Cekalla attending University of Minnesota: Duluth

Cade Edwards attending Boyce College 

Cecelia Krumholz attending University of Minnesota: Twin Cities

Piper Lewis attending Boston College

Brayden Morford attending Carnegie Mellon University

Michael Nwaigbo attending University of Illinois at Chicago

Alexis Petty attending Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Hannah Redding attending Penn State University Park

Kennedy Stockton attending University of Arkansas at Little Rock

“A total of $43,000 was awarded for new scholarships with an additional $60,000 for renewal scholarships,” stated Alison L. LaValley, CAE, Roofing Alliance executive director. “The Roofing Alliance leadership is very proud to be able to support the roofing industry with these scholarships. To date a total of 166 students have received $1,178,000 in scholarship awards.”
