Sheridan Metal Resources is making it easier for contractors to access essential tools and training in one place, while expanding partnerships with manufacturers and contractors alike. Set to launch this month, John Sheridan, owner of Sheridan Metal Resources, is working with Michelle Kettering, CEO of LTD Exteriors and sales and training coordinator at Sheridan Metal Resources, to roll out a newly updated website experience. We sat down with them recently to get the inside scoop on some of the anticipated changes and to learn more about the importance of training in the metal roofing industry.
According to Michelle, the website will become “a one-stop shop for everybody. This is where you go to find training, and this is where you can find the tools that you’re going to learn to use or specialize in from the trainings.” John added, “The biggest change is that we’re trying to incorporate training into the website and have an active training schedule that we can use to monitor sign up, which we’ve never had before.”
They’re looking to expand some of their partnerships, which you can learn more about at METALCON this year, and the new scheduling system will allow contractors to easily access different types of training. John and Michelle are working on including more specialized programs, like a collaboration with Sherwin-Williams on an introduction to metal training, a women’s training through Sheridan Metal Resources and more trainings offered in Spanish.
The connection between tools and training is a critical component of the learning experience Sheridan Metal Resources offers. As Michelle points out, combining the right tools with proper training makes all the difference: “I’ve done a few trainings with John, and it’s incredible to see the moment when things click for contractors. As soon as they try a tool John demonstrates, they realize how much easier their work could be with the right tools and training.”
John is passionate about making sure contractors know how to use the tools they buy. He shared, “The last thing I want is for somebody to buy a tool that doesn’t solve the problem they’re buying it for, or that they don’t really know how to use. I always ask them what they’re using it for, and if I have a better option, I’ll suggest it. I want them to use the right tool and to do it efficiently.”
This hands-on approach will be on full display at METALCON 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, where John will be back in the Training Zone for live demonstrations. John shared, “I want contractors to have easy access to all of these on our website.” Once you see the tools in action, you’ll know right where you can go to add them to your toolbox and expand your knowledge with additional training.
With Sheridan Metal Resources’ focus on combining tools and training, contractors can streamline their work and become more talented, efficient and successful in the metal industry. Don’t miss the chance to see John’s expertise in action at METALCON.
