The National Frame Building Association (NFBA) is dedicated to providing informational resources and educational opportunities that promote the interests of the post-frame construction industry for their members and the general public to participate in. Their free ongoing educational webinar series, the Post-Frame Advantage Online University, aims to educate participants in the basics of post-frame construction and other industry related subjects.
Earlier this year, the NFBA hosted a webinar titled, “Diaphragm Design of Post Frame Using DAFI - Engineering Details.” In this educational webinar, led by University of Missouri Professor, Joseph Zulovich, PhD., participants learned the steps of diaphragm design of post-frame buildings using the diaphragm and frame interaction (DAFI) calculator which helps users accurately design buildings that meet the designated load requirements. As diaphragm design adds considerable strength to a structure, this webinar can offer viewers valuable knowledge.
This recorded webinar highlights the diaphragm design process, and viewers can learn how to conduct 2D design of post-frame systems, how to conduct diaphragm designs of a post-frame system and how the diaphragm design can reduce the structural loads carried by the sidewall posts in a post-frame system. This valuable and informative webinar teaches viewers how to accurately identify the post-frame design resources that are available for architects and engineers and their importance.
This webinar highlights the value of post-frame construction and applies it in a way that shows architects and building code officials the economic value and versatility of post-frame systems.
