Tapered Designs are Helping Contractors Pivot Given Material Shortages

Hunter Panels NERCA
May 22, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

By Cass Jacoby, RCS Reporter.

RCS goes LIVE with Hunter Panels at NERCA to talk about how their polyiso is helping contractors meet the demands of a changing industry.

RoofersCoffeeShop® goes LIVE at North/East Roofing Contractors Association (NERCA), interviewing Hunter Panels to learn more about their tapered design and how they use expert problem solving to ensure contractor success.

Jim Singer has been a member of the Hunter team for less than a year, but has been in the tapered design business for over 17 years. Laura Blair is new to the roofing industry, joining the Hunter team about a year ago. “I’ve been learning the tapered insulation business and really enjoying it,” says Laura. “I have a CAD background, so I was able to jump right in and learn the CAD programs that we use to estimate tapered insulation.”

Hunter Roofing Polyiso is one of the industry’s leading insulation choices due to its R-Value, energy efficiency, fire performance and compatibility within many roofing systems. Hunter Roofing Polyiso products are designed to be compatible with a variety of deck types, roofing membranes for both new and retrofit applications and come in a variety of thicknesses, lengths, widths and facers to meet your specification needs.

Contractors can struggle in the current environment with shortages. “We can give them options depending on what the slopes are or separate jobs,” says Jim. “We can help them if there's a certain amount of material that's available, we can maybe switch up the design, switch it to a job, switch thicknesses. There's a lot of different things that go into it, so we can give them many different options of what's available and give them maybe a choice, if they can't get a certain material, maybe they can get something else and get the job moving and going for them.”

Watch the entire interview for more insight on how Hunter Panels is providing contractors with success.
