Strong Relationships for Stronger Business Solutions

In a recent CoffeeCast series, Karen Edwards meets with Jon Gardner of Owens Corning to discuss their new Business Solution strategic partners. Trent Cotney of Adams & Reese and Caleb Nelson of Destination Motivation share their thoughts on how important it is to develop strong relationships with business solution providers.  

Jon is the head of Owens Corning’s strategic partnerships, which he explains, “Our business solutions partners are all these fantastic partners that we have included in our Owens Corning Contractor Network program that really, at the end of the day, they’re all about helping our contractors solve some of the most significant challenges and opportunities to scale the business, utilizing these resources.” 

To recap some of the unique things about these services, Jon continues, “The need to solve problems is never going to go away, but when you look at today’s small business and today’s roofing contractor, one of the most significant opportunities is in the space of technology. Our business solutions are really focused in that space... We’ve built out a very real working tech stack, and we’re showcasing it in the industry today.” Leveraging technology to scale a business is one of the biggest opportunities facing the industry today, and just one way they are helping companies grow through their business solutions portfolio.  

By partnering with Adams & Reese, they are also offering contractors resources to help with critical paperwork that often gets overlooked. Trent tells us about the role he plays: “I’m taking a look at their contract, customer contract when they send it over to me and I’m creating a contract audit. I go through whatever terms and conditions I see on there, point out some problems, then put a section in there of stuff they should consider adding that’s not there.” The best part? Trent’s advice is coming free of charge, and they’ve had a huge response in an area that’s incredibly needed. 

Destination Motivation taps into yet another critical part of contractor’s challenges. As Caleb explains, “We really focus heavily on helping contractors increase their close rates, totally eliminate cancellations if they start to rear their ugly head, and we've created a multi-tool, whether it's a bigger call to action to generate more leads, which contractors in 2023 are definitely looking for more leads, or just creating more profitability per deal by creating more value in the overall value proposition.”
