This episode of Roofing Road Trips with Heidi takes a deep dive into FCS and Jobba to learn how they began and how the company is evolving to meet contractors changing needs. Heidi shares that she’s known the team at Jobba since they first started, and it’s been exciting to watch their growth and success. She asks CEO, Scott Keith to talk a little about their journey.
As is the case with many roofing-specific solutions, the software was developed out of a need that a contractor had. “FCS was created a little over 10 years ago, and it was a technology born out of a need to manage a large service project,” Scott explains. “At the time, there weren't many other options out there to help with this, so the founder developed this to manage that project. That quickly broadened into a solution that was really expanded to help throughout the roofing organization itself, everything from service to production, and sales.”
Scott said that over the years, they realize the need to expand into other aspects of the business besides just service. “About four years ago, we set out to rebuild a whole new platform, based on the feedback we've received from our customers that took into account all the challenges our customers have faced, growing with our application over the last 10 years,” explained Scott.
That’s where Jobba comes into the picture. It is a whole, comprehensive platform for the organization with the ability to adapt and change with the organization as it grows and evolves. One of the key features remaining that was in the original FCS system is the customer portal. With people so used to requesting what they want or need through an app or online portal (think Uber or Door Dash) facility managers and building owners appreciate the ease of requesting service that the platform provides.
