The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) was founded in 1987 to be the premier educational and technical resource to the spray polyurethane foam (SPF) industry. A national 501(c)6 trade association, SPFA is made up of contractors, manufacturers and distributors of spray polyurethane foam, as well as related professionals and entities involved in equipment, protective coatings, inspections, surface preparations and other key services related to spray foam.
SPFA’s core mission is to support the industry and serve those within it by promoting best practices and growth via a number of core initiatives, educational resources and more. With SPFA you can expect:
Technical resources. SPFA offers its members a myriad of technically focused literature, installation best practices and safety materials. Designed with the goal of optimizing the performance of spray foam in roofing and insulation practices, these documents provide guidance to professionals in the field.
Professional certifications. A part of SPFA’s dedication to promoting safety and the highest standards of excellence in spray foam installation, the SPFA Professional Certification Program (PCP) seeks to provide a way for customers to vet spray foam professionals and installers and contractors to market themselves as professionals. The certification is available to installers, contractors and suppliers active in the industry and is internationally recognized and ISO-17024 compliant.
Legislative advocacy. The SPFA advocates for its members and the industry at-large on a variety of pressing state and federal issues. Join SPFAdvocacy Network to influence policies impacting your spray foam business. It’s free and easy.
Publications. The SPFA is the publisher of Sprayfoam Professional, a quarterly magazine dedicated to providing key information about the spray foam industry. Everything a contractor needs to know about the sprayfoam industry, from standout spray foam applications to pertinent legislative updates is covered in this magazine, making it an excellent resource for the industry. SPFA also publishes a bi-weekly e-newsletter, SprayfoamPro which offers timely updates for members.
Events. SPFA is the host of the annual Sprayfoam Convention & Expo, the country’s largest convention dedicated to all things spray polyurethane foam. Additionally, the alliance hosts regional events to bring together the sprayfoam industry and provide learning, business, certification and networking opportunities.
As the SPF industry continues to grow, more and more people participate in the SPFA. The alliance is growing rapidly and is the voice for spray foam industry members.
