Roofer profile: Mark Bellitt, Arapahoe Roofing & Sheet Metal

Roofer profile: Mark Bellitt, Arapahoe Roofing & Sheet Metal
March 4, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

By Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

This roofer can attest to never having to worry about a bad snow retention layout in all the years he has worked with Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

From flat roofs and sheet metal to tile, slate and synthetics, Arapahoe Roofing & Sheet Metal has experience in every type of commercial and residential roofing situation imaginable. Led by President Mark Bellitt, this extraordinary roofing company deals with roof repairs and hail damage as successfully as it does with new and replacement roofing.

Tell us about the geography you install roofing in and what kind of snow retention systems are needed for your customers.

We’re based in Littleton, Colorado. Our teams work extensively in our state, but also travel throughout Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota and North Dakota. These are all areas with significant snowfall, so we are continuously including snow retention plans in our customer proposals.

What type of roofing material do you tend to install most, and what’s your favorite “go to” snow retention products that you use repeatedly with that material?

Throughout the mountain regions we’re mostly installing DaVinci Roofscapes composite slate and shake tiles, plus asphalt shingles, natural slate, clay and concrete tile, standing seam metal, EPDM and TPO. Each requires a different snow retention system based on the project. For the past 15 to 20 years we’ve relied on the Rocky Mountain Snow Guards team to provide the plans and quality products we need to make each project a success.

What’s the most challenging/interesting roofing project you’ve ever done where a snow retention system was involved?

The Horizon Pass Lodge we created back in 2022 with DaVinci Multi-Width Shake was definitely memorable. This included 30 condo units under one roof with challenging roof pitches and limited access. To finish off the project we used more than 10,000 metal RG16 snow guards in a dark bronze color in a soldier row pattern. Plus, we installed 1,700 linear feet of NoFlash III – 3-pipe aluminum snow fence systems. This gorgeous project in Bachelor Gulch, Colorado was awarded the DaVinci Masterpiece Contractor 2022 Project of the Year Award.

How often do you use the free layout and quote snow retention service from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards when you’re working on a roofing project? Why are you using this service?

We use the Rocky Mountain Snow Guards plan service on about 90% of my roof proposals that require snow retention. Their company is easy to work with and very importantly, their attention to detail is a must when Arapahoe Roofing installs their products on our roofing projects.

What keeps your company coming back to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for your snow retention needs?

Dependability. A great track record. Consistency of quality. I’ve never had to worry about a bad snow retention layout in all the years Arapahoe Roofing has worked with Rocky Mountain Snow Guards. Their product pricing is good, the free delivery helps my business and the quality overall of the product is very dependable. I give Rocky Mountain Snow Guards an A+ overall.
