Roof Coating Adds 15 Years to Roof’s Useful Life

Morrow Meadows Corporation in City of Industry, California was faced with having to re-roof its building.  However, instead of tearing off the roof, they opted to restore it using a coating manufactured by Tropical Roofing Products.  The installation of the roof coating was successfully completed by Central Roofing.  Since the roof had maintained its integrity, a coating restoration was the more economical solution to provide long-term weatherproofing.  

This two-step installation process involves prepping followed by application.  Central Roofing prepped the roof by repairing drains and replacing damaged wood.  According to Tropical Roofing Products, “blisters, fractures, and delaminated seams were corrected, [and] pipes and penetrations are resealed.”

The installation was completed while adhering to the specifications from Tropical Roofing Products.  A profile video of the restoration shows Central Roofing’s technicians applying two coats of cold-applied asphalt emulsion and polyester.  Tropical Roofing Supply’s reflex elastomeric roof coating is then applied as the finishing coat.  Forming a seamless layer of protection, the coating is “tough, durable, and designed to dramatically reduce interior temperatures,” Tropical Roofing Supply reveals.  Their products are also applied to pipes, vents, AC ducts, and other roof penetrations.  In doing this, the roof is fully protected and insulated.  

And in just three days, the roof is walkable.  Restoring the roof using Tropical Roofing Supply’s coating added 15 years of useful life to the roof without having to tear-off the existing system.  The coating is energy efficient and also reflects harmful UV rays from the sun.  “This Title 24-compliant roof restoration system has longevity, meets industry standard, and is budget-friendly,” Tropical Roofing Supply explains.
