Restoration of a 90-year-old Winery

IB Roof 90 year old Winery

An old Croatian winery gets an IB PVC renovation.

Out in Motovun, Croatia, is a ninety-year-old winery called Tomaz Wines, which has continued to successfully operate since its opening day. Being almost a century old, keeping on top of building maintenance is imperative. Upkeeping the roof is one of the most important aspects in a building, especially being near open waters. Branimir Grabovac of GRB, chose to install a PVC membrane system from IB Roof Systems, giving it protection to last another forty years.

Located at the base of the town, Tomaz Wines is met with micro-climate conditions where Mediterranean and continental climates combine, influencing the temperature during the day and night. With a PVC single-ply membrane on their roof, they will have a more stable temperature inside their building, allowing consistency for their local customers. IB’s PVC is made with climate fluctuations and natural disasters in mind.

Why should IB PVC be your number-one choice?

IB PVC has been tested and proven time and time again to withstand stormy weathers and harsh winds for at least forty years. The roof on Tomaz Wines also had ponding water, which can cause very costly damage if not properly cared for. Thankfully, IB Roof’s PVC can withstand constant dampness caused by humidity and mist.

In places that experience hurricane-force winds, you may wonder if IB PVC would be lifted up due to these harsh winds. Not to worry! According to IB Roof Systems, PVC has “superior wind uplift resistance. The best choice for low - and especially high–rise buildings located in regions prone to strong winds.”

Among other features such as fire and chemical resistance, this PVC is focused on sustainability. The high solar reflectivity can help save money on energy such as air conditioning and create a smaller carbon footprint for the entire usage.
