William Penn Marshall, 75 of Orlando, Florida passed away unexpectedly on December 28 at Lake Nona VA Hospital.
Penn was born on October 16, 1947 in Glasgow, Kentucky. His family moved to Northville, Michigan when Penn was five and he graduated from Northville High School.
He joined the U.S. Army and proudly served two tours in Vietnam. After his military service, Penn graduated from Valencia Community College with a Marketing Degree.
Penn’s career in roofing truly became his passion. He was highly respected within the roofing industry as a clay tile expert. He built an international roof tile distribution company located in Oveido. He owned All Points Tile and Slate for twenty years and it was sold in 2021.
Penn loved God and it was reflected in the man he became. He was a member of Rethink Life Church. Penn was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He spent countless hours improving the home he loved. His hobby was classic cars and in recent years his collection grew!
Since September 2021, Penn valiantly fought Stage Four Bladder Cancer from Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. His amazingly positive attitude and faith profoundly impacted his Moffitt Cancer Center and Orlando VA care teams.
Penn found his true joy in serving God and others. This must surely be why Penn was known for his infectious smile and contagious happiness he brought to everyone he interacted with!
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 31 years, Deborah Marshall and their blended family of six children; Dean Marshall, Ginny Stockwell, Deah Marshall, Adam Marshall, Brian Frink and Erin Prevatt Rosen. Nine grandchildren; Katie Marshall, Hunter and Hannah Frink, Geoffrey and Gia Goodman, Mallory, Paxton, Harlow Firefox and Skyla Rosen. Daughter in laws Jennifer Marshall and Michelle Frink. Son in laws Mike Stockwell and Blake Rosen. Lots of extended family and lifelong friends. Penn is predeceased by his parents, George and Marguerite Marshall, brother Richard Marshall, son Andy Marshall and daughter in law Maria Marshall.
A Celebration of Life was given earlier in Januaryat the United Church of the Nazarene. The family wishes memorial donations as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.
