Raising the roof at the 2024 SkillsUSA competition

Make your pledge to support roofing in this national competition and build excitement for younger generations entering skilled trade industries. 

The Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA) teamed up with the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) to bring the first annual roofing competition to the SkillsUSA program. Already, Arizona has 11 schools interested in participating next year.  

Participation in this program will significantly increase the workforce development of the roofing industry year over year and bring excitement to entering the trades. SkillsUSA is already long-established with empowering students to become skilled professionals in other trades, and there is no reason roofing should not be a part of this incredible mission. 

There are several opportunities to get involved and show your support in making this program successful. Their goal is to have all schools supported by Thursday, November 30, 2023, so make your pledge today! Consider getting involved by becoming one of the following: 

• Mentor: As a roofing contractor, you can pledge your support by offering to mentor a student. Offer up your own services or volunteer an employee that would be a good fit! ARCA believes that your expertise plays a pivotal role in providing guidance to the next generation of skilled roofing professionals. They’ll do their best to match mentors with schools based on their location and will help introduce teachers and mentors to get you started. 
• Sponsor: If you are an active ARCA member, you can make an impact by pledging $1,000 to sponsor a school! Your donation will be used to purchase tools and materials for the competition and will be instrumental in getting this program off the ground.  
• Supporter: You can also pledge through in-kind donations and provide resources that directly benefit their students in the competition.
