Thanks to the professional expertise and hard work of Paul Aragon and his crew at Jireh 7 Enterprises, Malarkey Roofing Products received an honorable mention in the 2017 Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) annual Quality Asphalt Roofing Case Study (QARC) awards.
Annually, as a member of the ARMA trade association, Malarkey invites contractors to share their stories, and submit their best Malarkey roofs to the QARC awards. This year at the International Roofing Expo, ARMA announced Jireh 7’s and Malarkey’s recognition, a first for both.
About the Project
“We chose the Castle Rock house because the size and difficulty of the project,” said Aragon. “Also, the way the shingles came out the house looks amazing with the Windsor®,” he added.
The 102-square project roof was atop a new home in Castle Rock, Colorado, a town situated south of Denver, near the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. In 2017, this region of the state experienced several hail events, so the Class 4 impact resistance of heavy-weight roofing shingles can really demonstrate its performance value.
According to Aragon, “The homeowner chose the products, and we like the durability of the shingle.”
For over 30 years, Malarkey has been engineering and manufacturing our specially formulated blend of polymers and mixing them with raw asphalt to produce our resilient Flexor™ polymer modified asphalt featured in the Windsor® roofing shingle. This process retains more of the rubber-like characteristics of raw asphalt while adding the enhanced characteristics of the polymers, resulting in improved flexibility, granule adhesion, cold weather installation, and impact resistance.
The homeowner selected the Windsor® designer roofing shingle in the color Antique Brown. As seen by the project photos, this color deftly matches the tan tone of the home. The high profile enhances the texture in the heavy-weight designer roofing shingle. It also compliments the smooth siding of the exterior walls. Lastly, the earthen shade fits into the natural hues of the surrounding landscape.
