At the International Roofing Expo (IRE) 2023, Heidi J. Ellsworth spoke with Darci Kunard from Franklin International, most famously known for their Titebond brand. While catching up, Darci shared some fun sales tool that Titebond offers completely free to contractors to help show consumers how well the products perform.
Advertising a free color chart, Darci elaborates that it’s more than just that. This color chart is actually a sample of the different caulks available and she goes on to say that the metal roof sealants come in over 100 colors. They even offer exact color match! What’s great about this chart is that it helps start a conversation about the product. In today’s fast-paced world, homeowners and consumers are researching and analyzing products, and the more details that are offered, the more informed choices they make thus feeling more confident in their decisions.
Another item that Titebond gives out for free is a block of sealant. “This is our actual metal roof sealant,” Darci explains. “This product here is the class 50 which means it expands up to 50 percent of the joint size and contracts up to 50 percent so you want that ability to expand and contract.” This is an important tool to demonstrate that the sealant will work whether you’re in cold or heated climates. Darci goes on to say, “This type of flexibility is amazing. It’s also showing the adhesion it has - the brick, the wood - this will stick to anything including Kynar and other coated metals.”
