During this time of year, it is the wish of all of us for families and individuals in our communities to be safe and happy, but there are many who go without. Prospect Waterproofing Company, of Sterling, VA, has been able to be a part of the solution for many families in their home county of Loudoun, VA.
Prospect is proud to support Loudoun Interfaith Relief (LIR), a food pantry, this season. LIR supplies perishable and non-perishable food items directly to families and individuals throughout their community. This past year, LIR directly served more than 17,000 individuals through 90,000 visits, half being children. Last fiscal year, LIR distributed over 1.4 million pounds of food and serve over 70 families per day.
Prospect Waterproofing Company, an NRP contractor, serves clients from Baltimore, MD to Richmond, VA, including the Washington, DC metropolitan region. The company provides award winning commercial roofing, sheet metal and waterproofing systems for government, commercial, institutional and industrial clients.
Over the years the staff at Prospect has supported Loudoun Interfaith Relief and the Holiday Coalition in conjunction with their local ABC, Associated Builders and Contractors. This year their Superintendent, Steve Bolick, suffered a heart attack on November 2, 2015. Being an avid supporter of charities, Steve challenged all to share with others in the community.
“We were moved by the fact that Steve thinks of the community and less fortunate families,” stated James Stamer, President of Prospect Waterproofing Company. “We had historically given our employees $15 gift cards from a grocery chain in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday. This year all of us wanted those cards plus more to go to LIR in honor of Steve.”
To support the Loudoun Interfaith Relief and Holiday Coalition all 48 staff members donated their $15 gift cards to the charity. In honor of Steve, each member of our staff also donated $20 in cash raising an additional $1,040.00 to the gift cards supplied and found it in their hearts to also gather 11 boxes of food.
“I was so proud of our company and team,” continued Stamer. “It is truly what the season is about.”
“The network of roofing companies that are part of NRP is truly impressive in all ways,” stated Dale Tyler, President of National Roofing Partners. “Every year we highlight our members who are making a difference. Prospect is the perfect example of what it means to care.”
