National Roofing completed a tear-off and reroof project at the Busy Bees Child Care Center, and the children enjoyed seeing the roofing workers in action during the process. Tracey Gossett, who focuses on customer relations within National Roofing's Business Development Team, saw an opportunity to give to the children and teachers at the child care center.
"Each time I would visit the project, the manager would mention to me how much the kids loved the roofers and how excited they were," Gossett says. "They were learning about community helpers in the first week we started, so it tied in nicely with their curriculum. That's when I had the idea to throw them a party and donate books to the center."
With hard hats, vests and cookies, Gossett handed out copies of the NRCA book "Is This a Roof?" to show children roofing can offer a pathway to success. National Roofing's project manager, Andres Hernandez, and his team came to the party and answered the children's questions about roofing.
"I feel very blessed to work for a company that automatically said 'yes' when asked if we could donate books and throw a party for the children," Gossett says. "National Roofing truly cares for our community and supports our outreach efforts, big or small."
Busy Bees Child Care Center was grateful for the roofing work and the donations for the center.
"National Roofing's teams went above and beyond for every issue and were a great support system throughout this job," says Cait Eisenhauer, facilities manager for Busy Bees Child Care Center. "I appreciate everything Tracey and National Roofing's crew did."
