Summary: NRCA CEO Reid Ribble will share his vision for NRCA and the roofing industry. Items to be discussed are NRCA's One Voice initiative, aimed at uniting the roofing industry and speaking with one voice on matters critical to the industry's success; advancing the roofing industry's public policy agenda through tax, immigration and regulatory reform; and how NRCA can amplify the voice of the roofing industry in Washington, D.C., by working with legislators and the federal government.

2018 Alliance Construction Management Student Competition
8-10:30 a.m.
Summary: The Alliance’s student competition is a hallmark competition that promotes careers in roofing industry management. This competition challenges students’ roofing knowledge, construction management skills, time management and organizational and presentation skills. Each team will make a maximum 15-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer period.

NRCA’s Objective Data Collection Results Under OSHA’s Construction Silica Regulation

Summary: An overview of the specific regulatory provisions addressing contractor compliance of OSHA’s silica regulation and the initiative by NRCA and roofing industry partners to collect objective data on worker exposures for a variety of tasks in roofing. Additionally, best practices, equipment and methods to reduce or eliminate worker exposures to crystalline silica will be presented.

Complying with Energy Code Requirements for Commercial Roof Assemblies

Summary: During this program, roofing-related energy efficiency provisions will be covered including requirements for: minimum roof system R-value for different roof assembly configurations, air leakage limits, roof covering reflectivity and skylight performance.

NRCA Industry Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception
5-7 p.m.
Summary: NRCA will formally recognize the roofing industry’s most prestigious awards, including the J.A. Piper Award, CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award, NRCA’s Gold Circle Awards, The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards and the winners of The Alliance’s Construction Management Student Competition.

Improving Your Company’s Safety Climate and Safety Performance

Summary: NRCA has been working closely with The Center for Construction Research and Training to develop an assessment tool that provides feedback on how to strengthen jobsite safety climate for roofing contractors. This program will show attendees how to use the tool to improve safety company wide, and on the job.
