It wouldn’t be the WRE without golf, games and fun!

Take a look at the special events offered at the 2024 Western Roofing Expo. 

It’s time to celebrate the Western States Roofing Contractors Association’s (WSRCA) 50th anniversary at the Western Roofing Expo (WRE)! Join them in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 29 to October 1, 2024, for lots of roofing insight and fun. Activities start Sunday, September 29 at 7:30 a.m. with a Golf Tournament and finish on October 1 with exciting Roofing Games. Learn about the newest roofing techniques and technology and meet with some of the industry’s top leaders.  

Special Events 

Sunday, September 29, 2024 

7:30 a.m.: Bob Porter Memorial Golf Tournament sponsored by Beacon 

• Play the stunning 36-hole Lexington Course at the Revere Golf Club, travel through the desert valleys and take in the Las Vegas skyline. The Lexington has a 7,143-yard, par-72 layout to test your swing. The proceeds of this tournament will go to the Davis Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund which has awarded over $750,000 to students in the past twenty-seven years. Registration is open now! 

5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.: Welcome Event and Auction sponsored by GAF 

• Prepare for an evening full of fun, food and friends! The theme of the night is Black & Gold so prepare to put on your spiffiest outfit. Several desirable items will be auctioned off during the event including vacations, jewelry, roofing materials, electronics, golf clubs and more. The Coffee Shops are donating a trip to Camp Sherman, Oregon and an exclusive dinner with Heidi and Tim Ellsworth. Entry for all exhibitors and WSRCA members is $35 and $75 for non-members. All proceeds will go to the Davis Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund. 

Monday, September 30, 2024 

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Legislative Luncheon with Keynote Speakers: Craig Brightup, WSRCA Political Correspondent and McKay Daniels, NRCA 

• This luncheon sponsored by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) gives attendees the opportunity to learn about the current status of roofing focused legislation. Craig Brightup is the CEO of The Brightup Group LLC. He has also worked as the vice president of government relations for the NRCA. McKay Daniels is NRCA’s CEO, was chief of staff for two members of Congress and has twenty years of experience in nonprofits, government and the private sector. They will discuss immigration reform, workers safety, labor relations, regulatory reform, taxes and other interesting topics. During this time, the nominees for the WSRCA Board of Directors will be announced and the Davis Memorial Scholarship winners. 

Tuesday – October 1, 2024 

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Annual luncheon with guest speaker: Anthony Robles sponsored by Malarkey Roofing Products 

• Join this luncheon with the tremendously inspiring guest speaker, Anthony Robles, and hear his incredible story of triumph over adversity. Anthony Robles was born July 20, 1988, without a right leg. When he was in high school, he tried out for the wrestling team. His first year went horribly but eventually he finished as a State Champion and a National Champion with an amazing record. He went on to the Arizona State University wrestling team and became a three-time All-American and the 2011 NCAA National Champion. 

3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Roofer’s Feud Game Show sponsored by CertainTeed 

• Join in on the fun and test your roofing knowledge by attending the Roofer’s Feud Game Show. Trent Cotney of Adams & Reese and John Kenney of Cotney Consulting Group featuring roofing history, types of roofing, tools used in the industry and more! Participants will be picked from the audience. 

4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - The Roofing Games™ Shingling Competition sponsored by Malarkey Roofing Products 

• You can’t miss this epic steep-slope nailing competition! Roofers face off in a live tournament installing a Malarkey Roofing Products roofing system on a small deck. Competitors will be judged on accuracy, aesthetic, speed and craftsmanship. If you are interested in competing, stop by the Malarkey Roofing Products booth for your chance to enter.
