The Metal Roofing Alliance unveils new website to better serve homeowners and metal professionals.

In a recent episode of the MetalCast™ podcast, host Karen Edwards sat down with Renee Ramey, executive director of the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA), to discuss the organization’s new website. With this update, MRA members are able to navigate the site with greater ease and have access to exciting new content and data.

Since 1998, the Metal Roofing Alliance has served the metal roofing industry by being a source of educational and networking opportunities for professionals and homeowners looking to learn about metal roofing. Renee shared, “We exist to help homeowners understand the truth about metal roofing, dispel myths, give them all the information they need in order to make an educated decision about re-roofing in general, but certainly considering metal roofing in that process.”

With that mission in mind, having a functional and interactive website is vital to their success at reaching their audience. Fine-tuning their internet presence and organizing available resources in an easy-to-understand way was a major part of this redesign. “It took a lot of my time, but certainly other people's time to go through and identify on a personal level through experience and knowledge of what we're getting asked quite frequently from homeowners, what information provides the best, most succinct, easy-to-understand answer and then maybe what was a little more confusing or a little more intense than what we wanted to present,” she added.

A few of the key areas of change for the new site included refining the available resources, making sure each topic was relevant and consumer friendly, making the Find a Professional section easy to use for homeowners looking to connect with contractors in their area and making the menu features more intuitive and functional.

Most importantly, centralizing the homeowner experience was important for the MRA, making sure homeowners had a direct line of contact with knowledgeable experts. Renee shared, “At the end of the day, our ultimate goal is to provide the homeowners with enough information to get them to the next step. And that next step is typically identifying and reaching out to a local professional... So that connection to a local contractor, installer is very important. And on our new website, we really stepped up our support.”
