In Season 5, Episode 79 of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth hosted Stephen Gosk and Ken McLauchlan from MetalForming LLC. Stephen is the company’s president and CEO and Ken is their VP of architectural sales.
Architectural sheet metal is currently trending in the industry due to its functionality and ability to improve a building’s longevity. With the rising popularity, home and building owners are realizing metal’s benefits of both adding an aesthetic flare to a structure and providing significant energy savings.
Because of these benefits and the rise in interest among customers, now is a great time for contractors to consider adding metal to their business offerings. Ken explained, “Being able to go to that supplier, to work with vendors to provide the right piece of equipment to create the right solution, is the largest part of today's market.”
MetalForming is dedicated to being a trusted partner for contractors, and one way they help contractors is by finding them the metal equipment that is right for their business needs. y. Stephen explained that the nature of their business is a combination of manufacturing and consulting, “Our customers are relying on our knowledge and our team to help them make the best decisions.”
Ken elaborated that they don't just point customers to existing solutions, they also direct them to the correct machinery to let them build the result they want. He shared, “They say, ‘Hey, this is what we're looking for. How do we address this?’ And one of our biggest strengths is the ability be very objectional and look at this and say, ‘We have a solution for this. This is what we can look at.’”
Those solutions come in the form of making sure they have the right tool for the job, whether it is a roll forming machine, press break or something else. Ken explained, "Most of the contractors are looking for job control, they're trying to figure out how do they manage their project the best.” Another resource that MetalForming provides to ensure that their customers are getting the right tools for a successful job is their field service crew. Stephen shared, “When the day comes that they have our machines that's in the field and something goes wrong, which inevitably something will, we respond with a level of urgency that matches what that customer's doing with the equipment.”
