Motorcycle Warehouse Revved up Their Roof With Silicone Restoration

After a roof evaluation, the APOC team determined this California-based warehouse was in need of a silicone system. 

When the BUR roof on a motorcycle warehouse in Santa Fe Springs, California looked to be in rough shape, the owners sought out the help of their local contractor. This contractor had worked with APOC on previous projects and reached out to them to evaluate the warehouse’s roof. The APOC team decided that what this warehouse needed was a silicone system restoration, specifically so that the roof could have a more reflective and waterproof surface. 

As the project kicked off, there were some challenges over small and large areas of asphalt mastic, which were resolved with heat and new granulated torch patches. Once repairs were made to the challenging areas, the preparation continued in three steps using polyester and APOC 581 Armor Flash Silicone mastic. Next, the entire roof was coated using APOC 583 Armor Base at a rate of 1.5 gallons per square. Once the base was fully cured, 2.5 gallons per square of APOC 585 Armor Flex Silicone was applied, giving this building a restored 20-year material warrantied system.

• APOC 583 Armor Base – a water borne epoxy to be used as a base for the 585 Armor Flex Silicone
