METALCON 2023: What to Expect from the Biggest Metal Roofing Event of the Year

METALCON 2023 Metal Roofing Event
October 5, 2023 at 3:00 a.m.

By Adam Cabrera.

METALCON, an annual gathering highly anticipated in the metal construction industry, is gearing up to be the most exciting event this year.

In a recent MetalCast episode, host Heidi J. Ellsworth interviewed Judy Geller, vice president of METALCON, who shed light on the compelling lineup and activities planned for METALCON 2023, set to take place in Las Vegas in October 2023.

Judy's enthusiasm for the event was palpable, saying, "We have so much planned, and registration is already going gangbusters." She emphasized the unique aspects that make this year's METALCON a must-attend event, especially its dynamic exhibit hall that comes complete with interactive educational sessions.

One standout feature is the METALCON Training Zone, sponsored by Sherwin-Williams. This hands-on learning area is designed for contractors at all levels and will offer bilingual training sessions. “They are going to have amazing mockups with various details to work on. There will be training available in English and in Spanish. That's a book. We've never done that before so that's really exciting," Judy noted, highlighting the event's focus on educational opportunities.

Judy also introduced a new part of the event called "Women in Metal Construction - Metal and Mimosas" that will take place before the show floor opens, offering networking, education and a relaxed atmosphere for women in the industry.

Additionally, this year's keynote speakers include Rico León from HGTV's "Rico to the Rescue" and Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Associated General Contractors of America. Additionally, the event will feature a slew of in-depth workshops and special morning kickoffs, each with expert speakers like Gary Edgar from PPG and urban designer Stefan Al.

Read the transcript, listen to the podcast, or watch the MetalCast episode to learn more about the convention and what you can look forward to.
