By Karen L. Edwards, RCS Editor.

This distributor believes in the performance of Titebond® WeatherMaster™ Metal Roof Sealant so much that they require its use before issuing a roof system warranty.

At RoofersCoffeeShop® (RCS) we love to hear from real people who are using our partners’ products and will share what they think of it with us. That’s what we did with Titebond® WeatherMaster™ Metal Roof Sealant.

I reached out to Jared Pearce, technical services manager at Gulf Coast Supply in Gainesville, Florida. Jared is no stranger to construction; he grew up with a contractor dad who built houses and a mother who worked in real estate.

“I think I lived in seven different houses in high school,” Jared shared. “My dad would build a house; we’d move into that until the next one was done, and then we’d sell it.”

After high school, Jared joined the United States Coast Guard and served for four years. He went on to attend the University of Florida, where he earned an engineering degree. After graduation, he joined a close friend, who owned Baker Construction Services and helped him expand into roofing and home building.

Jared enjoyed working as a contractor, but with a baby on the way, he wanted to move closer to home and family. He found work with Gulf Coast Supply as the technical services manager and loves the job. In his experience, he thinks that Titebond WeatherMaster Metal Roof Sealant is the best available. They use WeatherMaster Metal Roof Sealant exclusively when building display decks, and they recommend that contractors use it on all their metal roofing installations.

“We have a Weathertight Warranty that our contractors can offer on commercial metal roofing systems and we require the use of WeatherMaster,” explained Jared. “The sealant must be used any place on that roof where there might be a risk of water intrusion.”

Contractors like WeatherMaster because it comes ready to use and can be easily applied using a professional caulking gun. The permanent flexibility ensures it withstands joint movement, providing a long-lasting watertight seal.

Jared shared that one of the things he likes best about his job is teaching the Contactor Advantage classes. “There are so many contractors who may have done shingles for 20 years, and they are eager to get into metal,” he said. “Metal is a lot different than shingle, and they are hungry to learn.”

Those new to metal can rest assured that their installations will remain watertight when they rely on WeatherMaster Metal Roof Sealant. Just ask Jared.
